DIRECTOR OF PLANNING
Spokane Transit is a regional public transportation agency that provides fixed-route, paratransit and vanpool services over a 248 square mile Public Transportation Benefit Area which includes the cities of Spokane, Spokane Valley, Cheney, Airway Heights, Liberty Lake and Millwood. We’ve been recognized nationally for increases in ridership: 9.4% in 2006, 12.2% in 2007 and 18% year to date. We are one of the area’s larger employers, with approximately 500 employees. Our fleet consists of 151 buses, 67 Paratransit vans (in addition to 31 operated under contract) and 94 Vanpool vans.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced transit professional capable of leading the agency’s planning functions and oversee a staff of 5. This includes scheduling, short and long term service planning, inter-jurisdictional coordination, grant applications and management, capital facilities planning, and real estate. Reporting to the CEO, this new position is a member of the executive leadership team.
Minimum requirements: BA/BS in transportation, urban planning, public/business administration, engineering or related field. Five years’ transit planning experience in progressively more responsible positions, including management of people and financial resources. A positive attitude, ability to make and present a business case to support recommendations, and commitment to customer service are must-haves. Experience with bus rapid transit and/or light rail desired.

Director of Planning Position Decsription
Apply your technical and professional transit planning knowledge to recurring and new work activities. Assist STA with a wide variety of transit service and facility planning activities, to include the preparation of intergovernmental capital, operating and special grant requests, financial and statistical analysis of transit services, GIS mapping, regional transportation modeling, transit research studies and administering specifically assigned programs.
Minimum Requirements: BA/S in transportation, urban planning, business/public administration, engineering or a related field and a minimum of two years of experience in planning, grants preparation and administration or data collection and analysis. Salary range $45,306 - $57,823.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

Your skills are needed to troubleshoot and repair facilities and grounds equipment, to include shop, gates, doors, offices, lights, heating, ventilation, emergency generators, hoist, cranes, etc. Journeyman Electrician license required.
Valid driver’s license required and be capable of obtaining the required CDL. This is a union position. Wage range is $18.33 - $22.92.
