If you are outside the area served by fixed route bus service, you can still take advantage of Spokane Transit. Sharing a ride to work and back is good for the environment and your pocketbook.

 

How much does Vanpool cost?

Vanpool riders pay a low monthly fare based on daily travel distance and number of riders. Fares cover the costs of operating the van, including gas, maintenance and insurance.

The vanpool fare structure changed at the start of 2008.

Find a ride

Finding carpool and vanpool partners is easy - and free! Spokane County’s Regional Ridematch System has over 1,000 names of commuters in Spokane area, Eastern Washington, and Northern Idaho who want to share a ride.

All you need to do is use RideshareOnline.com to discover who is available to carpool or vanpool. In a matter of minutes you could be on your way to a great ridematch!

Try Vanpool by Spokane Transit

Vanpool is just like carpooling, but with a few more people. Using a Spokane Transit 7-passenger or 15-passenger van, a group of people who live and work in approximately the same area commute together.

Vanpooling is ideal for people who commute at least 10 one-way miles to work. The vanpool group travels from home (or a prearranged meeting place) to work and back in a single, round trip. The volunteer driver is also traveling to work and is trained by Spokane Transit on defensive driving and safety.
