STA Extends ‘Free Rides to Vaccines’ Program Through July 5
Spokane Transit (STA) announced today it will extend its ‘Free Ride to Vaccines’ program through July 5, a timeframe that coincides with the White House’s National Month of Action campaign to get as many Americans as possible at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot before the Fourth of July holiday.
The ‘Free Rides to Vaccines’ program allows people in the STA service area to call (509) 328-1552 to schedule a free door-to-door ride to and from their COVID-19 vaccination appointments. Those who sign up for a free ride during the limited-time program are eligible for a second free ride after July 5 to get to their second vaccination appointment.
The scheduled rides will be provided on STA Paratransit vans with up to three passengers sitting at least 6 feet apart. Per current federal regulations and with limited exceptions, everyone on public transportation vehicles must wear a mask. Van operators are equipped with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and regularly disinfect customers’ seats between rides. If desired, customers headed to vaccination appointments may be accompanied by one companion.
