Information Services Manager

Job Summary

The Information Services Manager plans, organizes, directs, develops, and coordinates the IS activities of Infrastructure, End User Computing, and Networking. The position is responsible for the daily operations of our on-premise, cloud-based, and network hardware/software and staff.  The role leads and mentors a team of highly skilled system and network administrators, and support specialists. This role plans, prioritizes, and manages technology implementation, support, and maintenance activities to ensure that STA’s information systems function reliably and that resources are used effectively.

  • Experienced with MS-SQL Server, , VMware, Cisco IOS, MS-Office 
  • Has a strong working knowledge of virtualization, storage, and networking
  • A team player who is enthusiastic about developing strong cohesive teams
  • Possesses strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure design, development, and implementation.

Examples of Duties

  • Manages and maintains IT infrastructure, including:
    • Data center, including servers and storage, operating systems, backups and replication
    • Networking, including circuits, mobile, routers/switches, WiFi, and firewalls
    • Workstations including laptops, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices
  • Coordinates the efforts of the IS Infrastructure, Network, and Desktop Support teams. Monitors support queues to ensure timely resolution of issues and requests.
  • Actively leads the ongoing maintenance, testing, and governance of IS business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Identifies processes, procedures, and effective monitoring for proactive identification and resolution of potential issues.
  • Performs ongoing capacity planning and analysis to ensure the ability to support the long-term growth of data and applications. Plan for hardware and software upgrades of systems.
  • Maintains applicable technical knowledge and experience with operating systems, tools, and configuration including Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Pure.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of four years of experience in IT infrastructure and two years in a leadership/management role.  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Information Technology or related fields or six years of progressive IT experience.  Professional experience related to the design, installation, and maintenance of local and wide area network required.
