In early January, a car collided with a Rideshare vehicle, and STA’s swift response earned high praise from customers.
Rideshare is a convenient commuter program for groups of three or more people who share an STA vehicle. A volunteer driver from the group handles the commute, helping riders save money, reduce stress, and lessen their environmental impact. Rideshare vehicles can travel to and from towns across Eastern Washington and North Idaho, as long as one end of the trip is within STA’s service area.
On an icy morning, Rideshare Program Manager Greg Garrett was notified about the accident and immediately called the volunteer driver. Minutes later, the driver returned Garrett’s call, and Garrett reassured them, “We’re sending help. Is anyone hurt, and are you in a safe place?”
Thankfully, no one was injured, and police had already arrived. Within 45 minutes, the group was back on the road with a replacement vehicle from STA.
“The response was phenomenal,” the driver later told Garrett. “With everything happening, it was amazing how fast Rideshare got to work. It was the best service we’ve ever experienced.”
“To see our teams come together with such a fast response and to hear that positive feedback was great,” Garrett said. “Accidents happen, but we’re always ready to support our customers when they need us most.”
