The Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) outlines STA’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and efficient public transportation. Developed in accordance with federal requirements established by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the PTASP serves as the foundation of our Safety Management System (SMS).
The plan identifies how we manage safety risks, monitor system performance, investigate safety events, and continuously improve our operations. It establishes safety objectives, performance targets, employee reporting processes, training requirements, and responsibilities for everyone involved in delivering transit service.
Safety is a shared responsibility. Through the PTASP, we proactively identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to help ensure the safety of our passengers, employees, and the communities we serve.
