STA Shuttles and Pre-Planned Detours

Spokane County hosts many community-wide events annually, and it may cause your route to be on a pre-planned detour, or you may benefit from STA Shuttle service that takes you to the entrance of an event.

The list below are the special events that may have a dedicated shuttle or require your route to be placed on a pre-planned detour. The list and information may change at any time as new events are frequently added around the region. Please sign up for STA Alerts to be directly informed of added detours, or download Transit App to receive notification directly from the app.

Summer of Soccer

Spokane Transit will enhance service frequency from June 1, 2026, to July 25, 2026, on key routes for getting around during the Summer of Soccer. 

City Line

Route 1-City Line’s new 10-minute service on Saturdays with 17 hours of high-frequency service throughout the day

Airport Routes

Route 7-Valley/Airport and Route 63-Geiger/Airport’s reliable airport service will run every 30 minutes, including on weeknights and weekends

Downtown/North Bank Shuttle

Route 11’s shuttle loops around all Summer of Soccer and 2026 FIFA World Cup Fan Zone events and activities in downtown Spokane

Skyfest

STA’s Skyfest Shuttle operates between STA Plaza Bay 10 and Fairchild Air Force Base.

Shuttle Schedule

On Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, 2026, STA Skyfest shuttles will operate as follows:

  • To Skyfest from STA Plaza: Buses depart every 30 minutes from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • From Skyfest to STA Plaza: Buses return every 30 minutes from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
Shuttle Route and Notes
  • Route 61-Highway 2/Fairchild will not serve the Fairchild Air Force Base (FAFB) front gate between 8:20 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. due to Skyfest. Route 61 will maintain its regular route and schedule, with service ending at the Spokane Tribe Casino.
  • Regular Route 61 riders can access FAFB by transferring to a Skyfest Shuttle at Yoke’s/Airway Heights Park & Ride.
  • Shuttles run to Skyfest attractions at Arnold and O’Malley, and WILL NOT serve the FAFB front gate. Return service from Skyfest to STA Plaza will operate between 9:30 A.M and 6:00 P.M.
  • Return trips beginning at 3:00 P.M. bypass Highway 2 and DO NOT serve Airway Heights, unless requested by a rider. Inform the return driver that a return to Airway Heights is needed, and routing will be altered to include Yokes/Airway Heights Park & Ride.

Spokane County Interstate Fair

SEPTEMBER • Friday after Labor Day for 10 days • Spokane County

STA’s Route 342 Fairgrounds Shuttle operates between Spokane Community College (SCC) and Spokane County Fairgrounds. 

Shuttle Fare

$2.00 for a round-trip shuttle ride.

Pay with cash, a contactless payment credit/debit card, or a Connect card. This special day pass applies only to Route 342; regular STA fare applies on other routes. As always, youth 18 & under ride free.

Shuttle Schedule

From September 11 to September 20, 2026, Route 342 Fairgrounds Shuttle will operate on weekdays and Saturdays between 7:40 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. On Sundays, the shuttle will operate between 7:55 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Shuttle frequency is as follows: 30-minute service on weekdays and Sundays; 20-minute service on Saturdays.

Where to Park

Free parking is available at the SCC P1 lot next to the SCC Transit Center. Hop on the shuttle to avoid the $10 parking fee at the fairgrounds lot. For more details, visit the Spokane County Interstate Fair parking page.

Save on Fair Admission

This year, the fair organizers have prepared a special gift for riders using STA’s fair shuttle service by offering a $5 discount coupon for any admission paid in person at the fair entrance. Ask your bus driver for a discount coupon, which will be available only to riders using Route 342 to get to the fair.

One discount coupon per rider, and coupons are limited to one per in-person paying guest and will not be replaced if lost, stolen, or damaged.

Valleyfest

On Saturday, September 26, 2026, STA Valleyfest shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Where to Park

There will be three locations with lots of convenient parking available.

  • Spokane Valley Mall parking lot near Red Robin
  • Mirabeau Transit Center parking lot
  • Parking lots at Cherry and Mirabeau Parkway

Christmas Bureau

DECEMBER • One week • Spokane County

STA’s Route 343 Bureau Shuttle operates between Spokane Community College (SCC) and Spokane County Fairgrounds.

During the Christmas Bureau, the Route 343 Bureau Shuttle will operate every 30 minutes to provide reliable transportation to help families reach these services. No shuttle service will be provided on Christmas Bureau closure days.

Park for free at the SCC Transit Center and hop on the shuttle to avoid the $10 parking fee at the fairgrounds lot. For more details, visit the Spokane County Interstate Fair parking page.

In recognition of Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, 2026, our schedule will operate on the federal holiday with regular Saturday service hours for all routes. Paratransit standing rides will not be activated on holidays. Therefore, customers must call Paratransit reservations at 509-328-1552 to schedule a trip in place of their regular standing ride for travel on a holiday.
