June is National Ride Transit Month and a great time for Spokane area residents to take advantage of the benefits of public transit! 

Riding the bus helps ease the pain at the pump while reducing your carbon footprint. Simply commute by bus, carpool/vanpool, bike, or even walk instead of driving alone. Then track your commutes here to be automatically entered to win valuable gift card prizes during June’s “Connect with a New Commute” challenge, brought to you by our local Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) chapter and Spokane Transit!

“We are pleased to partner with CTR to celebrate National Ride Transit Month,” said Brandon Rapez-Betty, STA Chief Operations Officer. “The more people embrace public transit, the more our region benefits – from less traffic congestion to cleaner, healthier air.”

CTR will evaluate the data provided by participants in the Ride Transit Month event and report back on tailpipe emissions eliminated during the campaign, including CO and GHG emissions.
